The second son of world-renowned master ceramicist Shiro Tsujimura (Lots 3 & 22), Kai Tsujimura produces ceramics in a wide range of styles that demonstrate his mastery of traditional techniques. His tea bowls, vases, and other vessels are at once functional and aesthetically pleasing. Large vases, such as the present example, are often rough-hewn and imbued with an energy and power that reflect youthful vigor. His work is held in the Minneapolis Institute of Art and other leading institutions.
