An original abstract landscape, oil on canvas, by artist Kale Baker titled Melt No.2, 2017. The work is layered with a soothing palette of earthy teals, blue, ochre, umber, and brown. These well executed layers of brushwork add depth and draw the viewer in. This piece is unframed, with a total measurement of 12 x 12 inches, and is in excellent condition. Hand signed by Baker on the back.

Kale Baker's process begins with walks and runs through the bog near home. Baker's paintings mirror the runnel vision state of mind that physical activity creates through spontaneous actions involving mark making and gesture. Her work evokes the feeling of being present through movement and also references the passing of time. The surface of the work is layered, physical and substracted. Subtle and abrupt transitions between hard edge and atmosphere suggest the hazy line of clarity between internal and external awareness.

Signature: Signed by Kale on back.
