To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the iconic CHUM figurine, KAWS released a set of new colors in the summer of 2022. And my my, they are spectacular. This orange CHUM figure, whose name means ‘a close friend’, is noticeably inspired by the popular Michelin Man.
I can remember clearly packing and shipping the first CHUM release from my apartment in Brooklyn twenty years ago, said the artist KAWS. To celebrate its 20th anniversary, CHUM comes back in black, white, pink, orange and yellow.

KAWS is bringing back his Chum figure for the first time since September 2020 during his What Party exhibition in Brooklyn, New York. This release marks the 20th anniversary of the Chum characters original release in 2002. KAWS’s Chum (2022) release comes as an open edition while the original yellow Chum figure released in 2002 was a limited edition of 1000 figures. The KAWS Chum figure measures 11.6" x 7.7" x 3.5".
