About Kelly Behun Studio
Kelly Behun Studio is an interior and furniture design firm. Founded in New York by Kelly Behun, the studio made an important shift when the artist Alex P. White came on board in 2008. The studio’s furniture pieces refer to the work of iconic modernist designers, such as Oscar Niemeyer, as well as important postwar artists. The Pour side table (2012), for example, mimics Lynda Benglis’s latex sculptures and features epoxy resin poured over a clear acrylic surface. Behun and White also allude to Op Art in their furniture, incorporating optically rich, black-and-white designs inspired by Victor Vasarely and Bridget Riley.
