Kellyann Burns lives and works in Los Angeles. She is an American Abstract Artist who focuses on process and color to portray the environments she keenly observes. Burns creates a visual dialogue through abstraction and shifts between a variety of art forms: Painting, Collage, Drawing, Installation, and most recently Sculpture. In her paintings, Burns creates hard-edged, geometric abstraction by stacking flat layers of color, one on top of the other. Her process of painting using a metal spatula and sandpaper, alongside more traditional brushes and pallet knives, is evident within each piece. Sanding every layer of paint allows the artist to expose varying fields of solid color and to create diverse surface qualities and light manipulation, resulting in complex abstract works.
Burns's work is held in public and private collections throughout the United States.
