About Kenny Harris
Realist painter Kenny Harris combines a rigorous classicism with gestural brushstrokes and rich areas of impasto, drawing material for his work from his extensive travels through South America, Europe, Cuba, and Istanbul. Inspired by the Dutch and Italian Masters, Harris paints with sensitive attention to the play of light, perspective, and the balanced composition of his works. “I’m drawn to certain conditions of light and space, which usually contain elements of isolation, reflection, or atmospheric perspective,” he explains. “These come together in various genres—the spare interior, the figure in contemplation, the atmospheric landscape or cityscape.”
