Koak, ‘The Last Stretch’, 2017, Headlands Center for the Arts: Benefit Auction 2018

Koak’s work features comic-inspired drawings and paintings of voluminous nude women caught in the act of everyday activities ranging from chores to child-rearing.

Koak is an artist living and working in San Francisco, California. She received her MFA in Comics at California College of the Arts (CCA) and her BFA from CCA’s Individualized Program. Recent exhibitions include Condo, Union Pacific, London; Therianthrophy, Laura Bartlett Gallery, London; Bathers, Alter Space, San Francisco; '3. The Set', Holiday Forever, Jackson Hole; The Bad Case of the Uglies, Et al. etc., San Francisco; Untitled Art Fair, Miami; and NADA Art Fair, Miami. Her work has been published in Revs Magazine, Vault Magazine, It’s Nice That, Vice, Night Papers, and Oberon. Upcoming exhibitions include American Medium, New York, and Walden Gallery, Buenos Aires.
