Larry Zox, like other American artists including Wayne Thiebaud and John
McLaughlin, travelled to Vallauris in order to work with Hidalgo Arnéra, famed for being the linocut printer with whom Picasso worked. Arnéra printed all of Picasso's postwar linocuts.
