Laurence Bonvin, ‘Far East Pank, Extension I, Alexandra’, 2012, Museum of African Design (MOAD)

Artist's Statement
The series addresses landscape around the city of Johannesburg at a time when urban transformation and scars of the past are still visible. The complex historical layering as well as the inescapable political content of the South African landscape lead me to develop polyptych images which intend to question my position in the landscape as well as the notion of the unique point-of-view.
