About Lincoln Schatz

Lincoln Schatz is best known for his self-perpetuating interactive installations that simultaneously shoot new video and loop it with existing video to create near-infinite variations on a particular shot. Schatz uses time itself as material, creating works that become archives of their own histories. For his "600 Fairbanks Project" (2007), Schatz installed cameras to continuously film and replay the construction of the 600 Fairbanks high-rise in Chicago, resulting in overlapping collage-like frames of video, non-linear and atemporal.
