Problem solving lies at the core of Swiss duo Linus Bill and Adrien Horni’s artistic collaboration. Exploring process, form, and presentation, Bill and Horni merge mediums to create artworks rooted in a shared visual vocabulary. They begin by creating small-scale, abstract collages using manual cut-and-paste and digital scanning techniques. The collages serve as points of departure for their full-scale artworks, and are compiled into a catalogue from which Bill and Horni select the images that resonate most strongly. Working with paint, inkjet printing, silkscreen, and assemblage, Bill and Horni toy with materiality by layering media to build depth. The value of the image in the digital era is the crux of Bill and Horni’s collaboration, as the duo seeks to re-establish the value of the image in a world where ownership is virtually impossible to trace or defend.
