Karl Marx in 2013 was inspired by the artist’s experience of visiting Marx’s grave in North London at the end of 2013. On the way there, LIU Ding encountered a group of tourists from China. The interaction between LIU Ding and them, and their interaction with Marx’s grave are the content of this piece. Being away from China, but right in front of the grave of Marx in a western country, a little conflict occurred due to certain ideologically shaped patterns of behavior. The inevitability and confrontation on the scene were much stronger than a planned scene.
