About Lotte Geeven

Dutch multimedia artist Lotte Geeven creates site-specific installations that are three-dimensional portraits of places. They are amalgamations of sound, sculptural objects, paint, wallpaper, and small-scale architecture. “My approach is observation-based and strictly non-intellectual,” Geeven has said. “I strongly believe a dynamic playful way combined with precise non-hierarchical observing can lead to a deep understanding of places and objects that surround us.” Geeven uses these installations to illustrate the relationship between identity and place, and the way in which mental space and the physical realm overlap.
