Luigi Lucioni
Italian-American, 1900–1988
Follow

Luigi Lucioni was a realist painter of still lifes, portraits, and landscape, with subjects drawn from his life in New York and Vermont. The photographic precision of his work stems from his training as an etcher and interests in Renaissance-era work and the academic painting tradition. Although Lucioni's style did not reflect the impressionistic and abstract artistic trends of his day, distinctive elements of the 1920s world, including new technologies and mass-produced products, are common in his compositions.
