Bauman is a landscape painter born in Warsaw, Poland, however now living and working in Britain looks at motifs as contrasting as part of the cultivated landscapes of the Mediterranean and the deserts of North Africa and Australia. Although de-populated, they are marked by a structure imposed by the human hand (geometry of fields, repetition of trees and other natural elements) or by the artist's own formal order of compositional elements, resolved usually within the square format. The images, work both on a figurative and abstract level, the surface of the panels characterised by varied marks and textures achieved by a complex mixed media technique combining plaster, resin, wax, sand, acrylic texture gels and pigments.
The artist's exquisite works are collected by many organisations including Linklaters, Alliance, Deutsche Bank and Burlington resources to name just a few. Bauman also works as a lecturer at numerous adult education institutions in London, and art galleries such as the Tate Gallery, National Portrait Gallery, Boston Museum of Fine Arts and the National Gallery to date.
Bauman presents her intrigue and fascination of a house in Tuscany, Italy where she chooses to capture the multi layered look of textures and greens in the landscape. With a bright colour palette of yellows, light browns and greens, the artist is able to paint an uplifting image that is perfect to calm the viewer.
