This pair of stands, part of an original set, along with two double-shelved stands, speak to du Plantier’s interests in sculpture and “primitive” art, as well as a penchant for clean bold lines in his furniture designs. The figure formed by the design of the iron base playfully suggests a sort of pictogram of a person.
