About Marc Newson

Marc Newson was named one of Time magazine's Top 100 most influential people in the world in 2005. Among the most prolific and accomplished designers of his generation, Newson has applied his futuristic, technically rigorous approach to everything from bicycles, concept cars, restaurants, and commercial jet interiors to kitchen and bath accessories and clothing. After traveling in Europe and Asia throughout his childhood, he studied jewelry and sculpture in Sydney before his breakthrough piece of furniture design, the 1986 Lockheed Lounge, a fluid metallic form that quickly appeared in magazines worldwide.
