Annotated in pencil verso: “Beaufils, fo 27, No. 2”, possibly referring to Gromaire’s stepson in an estate division of artworks. This drawing was created shortly after the artist’s time spent at the Aubusson creating tapestries with Jean Lurcat. In 1947 Gromaire began to exhibit at Galerie Louis Carre.
