Marcel Mouly, ‘Amsterdam, Vielles Maisons’, 1971, Baterbys Art Gallery

Marcel Mouly was a French artist who created brightly colored abstract paintings and lithographs. He was inspired by the Cubist tendencies of Picasso and the Fauvist artist Matisse, but he put his own spin on both styles. He traveled extensively throughout Europe and got ideas for paintings from his travels. Mouly's artworks are a celebration of the joy and beauty of life.
