Marcel Mouly, ‘La Desserte, Fond Bleu’, 2004, Baterbys Art Gallery

This painting exemplifies the ways in which Marcel Mouly adapted the style of other artists. The subject matter, blue tones, and the drawing within the painting resemble the work of Pablo Picasso. However, the bold colors parallel the colors used by Matisse. However, unlike either artist, Mouly's composition is rational and complete.
