Marco Breuer, ‘Untitled (C-1865)’, 2017, Headlands Center for the Arts: Benefit Auction 2017

Marco Breuer (Artist in Residence ’16) has exhibited widely throughout the United States and Europe. His solo museum exhibitions include Line of Sight, de Young Museum, San Francisco; New Pictures 2: Marco Breuer, Minneapolis Institute of Arts; and Circa 1999, MIT List Visual Art Center, Cambridge, Massachusetts. His work is in numerous public collections, including the Museum of Modern Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.; J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles; SFMOMA; and Staatsgalerie Stuttgart, Germany. Breuer is the recipient of a 2006 Guggenheim fellowship and, in 2015, the inaugural Larry Sultan Photography Award. A traveling retrospective of Breuer’s work opens at the Milwaukee Art Museum in 2018.
