Launching Acme Studios in 1985 with a successful limited edition collection of jewelry by Peter Shire, Adrian Olabuenaga contacted Marco Zanini and many other designers of the world-renowned Memphis collection to design jewelry utilizing a cloisonné enamel technique. Zanini designed an extensive collection of necklaces, earrings, brooches, and bolo ties. The Memphis Designers for Acme collection debuted in 1986, at the opening of the Memphis/Milano exhibition at the Cooper-Hewitt Museum in New York. The entire body of work is in the permanent collection of the Groninger Collection in The Netherlands and is represented in other museum collections worldwide. The Morgana Necklace is from the Acme Studios vault and once these last few are sold, they will be gone forever.
