LITERATURE
Artist info for your page on Artsy: Simple bio:
Margaret Zox Brown studied oil painting at New York City’s culturally rich 92nd Street Y for 29 years and from 1998 through 2016 Margaret studied with the accomplished Southern oil painter, Brian Rutenberg. Through Brian's tutelage, Margaret expanded her color language to include transparent colors, learned concepts like the flat picture plane, and most important, made a thorough study of Art History. Painting larger and larger pieces with confidence allowed her to go from private collectors to public space acquisitions. Margaret attended the Chapin School in New York City and Trinity College in Hartford, CT. She continues to live and work in New York City, showing at different galleries and selling from her studio in the Garment District while actively pursuing more public venue opportunities all over the world.
