oil, graphite on linen - 40"x 50"
This large scale painting is beautifully composed on a stretched linen surface and contains balanced hues in vibrant pinks, peaches, and violets contrasting against cooler blues, creamy beiges and earthy blue-greens. A showcase piece from the artist's series, "Lost Horizon," this painting is executed with immense skill of gradient transparency and defining line-work. One is instantly attracted to the crisp dark line of color that changes in thickness and form in the center of the painting, drawing ones eye through the many layers and facets of the painting.
