French for "this is not silence", ILN'YAPASDESILENCE is an exploration of color as sound. To create this dimensional work, Linnenbrink routered and sanded through layer upon layer of poured pigmented resin.

About Markus Linnenbrink

Evoking the stripe paintings of Morris Louis and Gene Davis, Markus Linnenbrink creates decadently colorful drip paintings and striped room-size environments. Color and process are Linnenbrink’s primary concerns; he builds his compositions using layer upon layer of carefully controlled drips in saturated, glossy colors. Although comprised of precisely rendered stripes, Linnenbrink’s works, rife with drips, resin pools, and tactile surfaces, suggest the spontaneity of a more intuitive process, a sense he heightens with occasional subtle interruptions.
