"Abstract, eye-rubbing colors and extreme softness are visual elements of my work. The feeling of gum being peeled by a shoe from the ground, the wrinkle of tinsel in the wind. I work with themes of fertility and life and push feelings through color.

I work with the themes of femininity through symbols and abstraction along with color. It’s about self-awareness as well as worship. I love to show the power of being human with work that is sensitive and slightly unnerving. Raised by women and in a household surrounded by art history and history teachings, the sorrows and strength of women have always interested me; to show them in a way that isn’t a nude done by a man." -Marleigh Culver
