Brazilian artist Mauro Oliveira creates artworks using special automotive detailing tape, acrylic paint, pencils and other creative media, finishing them with several layers of resin for an immaculate and super glossy finish. The exceptionally shiny varnish gives Mauro’s pieces a delightful reflection and a finished look. Many of his geometric artworks are named after specific places and skylines that inspired them. Each is precisely planned out and there is little room for error with his technique, making every one equally stunning.
This 36 inches tall by 36 inches wide round artwork is wired and ready to hang. Oliveira used black acrylic paint and colorful vinyl tape to create this unique mixed-media artwork, covering the front and sides with a smooth layer of clear, glass-like resin to enhance the colors and add depth. This urban inspired artwork does not require framing. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. $125 shipping within Continental US. Affordable worldwide shipping options available. A certificate of authenticity and hanging hardware are included.
Best known for his geometric work done with automobile detailing vinyl tapes, Mauro Oliveira also creates three dimensional wall artworks that resemble floating sculptures, creatively incorporating objects such as color pencils, pens, water color tablets, paper clips, rubber bands, wax, metals or other everyday materials. All his artworks are covered in an immaculate and glossy resin finish.
As a Brazilian born child with 7 siblings and growing up in extreme poverty resulted in creativity starting early. At age 10 he took advantage of the free tin piggy banks given by all the banks back then and encouraged other kids to paint them with him in order to sell at a weekend art fair in Sao Paulo: 1000's were sold. He made it to college and won a student exchange program contest sponsored by the Federal University of Uberlândia, Brazil. He studied Journalism and the Arts and immigrated to the U.S. in 1990.
Oliveira, 50, lived half of his life in Brazil and the other half in the USA where he finally settled down in Los Angeles. His artworks have been exhibited in many international cities, including Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Miami, San Francisco, New York, San Diego, Palm Springs and Los Angeles.
His greatest influences are Pablo Picasso and Joan Miro. Oliveira studied Journalism and Arts in Brazil and immigrated to the USA in 1990. Having a full circle in his life, he is now a full-time artist and couldn't be happier.
Inspired by nature, colors and geometry, he makes sure that every piece has a story to tell and touches everyone in one way or another. Oliveira likes to believe that he created his own eclectic style, using materials never used before for art.
