California sculptor Michael Gustavson's colorful "9th Street Blues" sculpture is made from hand-built ceramic and finished with his signature intricate glazing. The multicolored, intersecting shapes wrap around three sides of the totemic form, and are rendered in a variety of textures and colors. The different textures enhance the playful and tactile feel and add an organic contrast to the straight lines and geometric shapes used throughout.
The sculpture is comprised of three separate sections that disassemble for transport. It can be placed indoors for a unique decorative accent, or outdoors in temperate climates as the perfect focal point for a garden.
Signature: The ceramic is inscribed with the artist's signature near the bottom of the middle section.
