Like the animated stamps in the «Mémo» installation, the «Lost letters» take us back to the Stalin era. The radical transformation of the soviet society was characterized by rapid industrialization and sweeping collectivization of agriculture. These processes of modernizing depended largely on forced labour - an aspect which is particularly explored in the animation of the torn letter by Mikhail Margolis.
