Mildred Beltre, ‘Azabache’, 2016, CMA: Benefit Auction 2016

Mildred was born in 1969 and was born and raised in New York City. She double-majored in art and anthropology at Carleton College in Northfield , Michigan and then completed her MFA in printmaking at the University of Iowa. She returned to New York City, and has been a teaching artist at El Museo del Barrio, The Henry Street Settlement and The New York Housing Authority. Her work is in the collections of the Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn, New York, and the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
