Milton H. Greene, 1955, The Archives Store

Marilyn Monroe was living with the Greenes' in Weston, Connecticut when this image was taken in December of 1955. This series, entitled “The Trestle Sitting,” was photographed in his daylight studio which had been converted from a barn. Marilyn radiates a warm glow, even with a white background, posing between sawhorses in the studio. Wearing a striped, button-up short sleeved shirt, her hands meet behind her neck while her elbows rest on the sawhorses.

Printing is done on an Epson Stylus Pro® series printer (using UltraChrome K3® with Vivid Magenta) using Innova FibaPrint Warm Cotton Gloss 335 gsm paper. This ink and media combination is rated by Wilhelm Imaging Research, Inc. to last over 200 years before showing any signs of fading under proper conditions.
