Mitchell Funk, ‘March on Washington Ending Vietnam War’, 1969, Robert Funk Fine Art

It was the protest march to end all protests marches. It happened on November 15, 1969. The Moratorium March on Washington, where over 40,000 like-minded people joined together with a sense of purpose and marched down Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House. This photo captures true spirit of time. A group of guys wearing Chuck Taylor, "Cons" are hanging out, having a good time, flashing the a gloved Peace Sign and American flag. The composition of intertwined figures symbolically sums up the unity mindset up the era.
