‘Love is in the Air, London’ celebrates the landmarks synonymous with England’s great capital city, a place close to the artist’s heart. Against a backdrop of newsprint honouring some key figures from English history, including Sir Winston Churchill, William Shakespeare and Queen Elizabeth I, sits a collage of famous architectural icons including Big Ben, The Shard, The Gherkin, St Paul’s Cathedral, and a busy foreground buzzing with iconic red double-decker buses, a Tube station, black cabs and crowds of tourists. Flying high above this city scene are two young figures swaying in the breeze on swings carried by red heart-shaped helium balloons, one waving the Union Flag and the other bedecked in a red, white and blue Union Jack cape.
