Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance, ‘FOLIA FLOOR LAMP’, St. Louis

About Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance

The son of a sculptor, Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance was interested in art from an early age. He studied both sculpture and decorative arts, and blends the two in his objects and interior environments. He is perhaps best known for his breakthrough design for London’s Sketch restaurant in 2002, an ultra-modern, sci-fi (think: egg-shaped pods) experience hidden behind a Victorian façade. His other projects lean toward the more organic, like his fluid, hand-carved wooden Corvo armchairs and his reinterpretation of the classic French interior for the Paris restaurant Senderens. He has created airport lounges for Air France, designed a perfume bottle in the shape of a gold bar for Paco Rabanne, and reimagined the candelabra for Baccarat.
