About Not Vital

Painter, sculptor, designer, and architect Not Vital lives as though his life is a work of art, embodying the kind of eccentric and extravagant lifestyle made famous by artists before him like Salvador Dalí. Based in the remote mountains of Switzerland, Not Vital quietly yet prolifically creates surreal and conceptual works. His sculptures are primarily composed of plaster, bronze, marble, silver, and gold, and feature motifs of animals and the natural world. The artist often experiments with the relationship of materials to their surroundings; he once submerged an aluminum camel head underwater. The sculpture was only visible during low tide, exposing the work in a new light.
