A late work, this tall, cylindrical vase is a testament to Meier’s mature talent as a sculpture of simply elegant forms. Two veins of a pastel, greenish blue glaze run vertically down two sides of the vase, set against a pure white background. The entire vase has been overlaid with mottles of tan glaze. On the upper edge, a more vibrant sky blue can be seen layered underneath a web of cream. The slightly rounded top of the vase culminates in a small, round neck glazed in that same teal found elsewhere on the body.
