Pam Glick describes her gestural, often fervent paintings as a blend of the spiritual and the physical, born from a emotional impetus, formalized and put to canvas through expressionistic brushstrokes. Glick’s subject matter has varied widely over her over thirty-year career, from textual paintings to her more recent series of works depicting Niagara Falls. Translating the power and energy of the Falls into churning layers of abstraction, the works turn into images of emotional and psychological landscapes. Pam Glick lives and works in Buffalo, NY. Glick’s first solo exhibition took place at White Columns in 1981, and since, her work has been exhibited widely, including solo exhibitions at the Wolff Gallery, New York, NY; Hirschl and Adler, New York, NY; and Michael Kohn Gallery, Los Angeles, CA, among others. She recently returned to White Columns for a successful solo show in 2016. Group shows have included White Columns, New York, NY; Pat Hearn Gallery, New York, NY; and the Drawing Center, New York, NY, among others.
