Juno in her chariot with Mercury and Cupid: design for a ceiling compartment

The elongated horizontal format and squaring in black and red chalk suggests that this design was intented for a ceiling, overdoor or wall decoration. However, there is no extant or documented painted work by the artist of this subject. In the present sheet, Juno sits in her chariot pulled by peacocks and led by Mercury, while Cupid, at the far left of the composition is about to release his arrow.
