Where Are We Going

About Parra

Dutch illustrator, painter, and animator Parra produces vibrant, post-Pop imagery populated by hybrid figures with elongated beak-like noses and the artist’s unique typography. Parra began his career drawing flyers and posters for music venues, later employing his eccentric, hand-drawn approach to illustration and design in fine art works. Recent works such as Holding a Stick (2012) and Game (2012) depict curvaceous nudes with Parra’s signature bird-like heads engaged in provocative situations and rendered in bold, saturated blues and reds. Parra’s images have been compared to those of Keith Haring and Victor Moscoso.
