Pat York, a photographer whose work encompasses subjects as diverse as fashion, live surgical operations, and travel is especially renowned for her Trilogy of celebrities, nudes and cadavers. This presents her work to the world with the hope of opening the eye and mind of the observer. The Trilogy examines human nature on a totally different level. The photographs compel the viewer to look at humans beyond their superficial skin. It allows us to realize that, despite race, religion, and socio-economic factors, we are all the same under our fragile covering. Pat York's work has been exhibited internationally with solo exhibitions at the Corcoran Gallery of Arts Washington, D.C., the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences, Los Angeles, the Ace Gallery, Los Angeles, the Pittsburgh Center For The Arts as well as the Kunsthalle Museum, Mannheim, Germany, the Nostic Palace, Prague, the Marble Palace of the Russian Stare Museum, St. Petersburg, the Manezh Cultural Hall, Moscow, the Zacheta Museum of Contemporary Art, Warsaw, the Galerie Gmurzynska, Zurich and the Hong Kong Film Archive, with solo exhibitions in Croatia, Latvia and other European countries. Her work is in many collections world-wide including the Wellcome Trust in London, the National Gallery, Washington, D.C., the National Gallery, London, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Montblanc Art Collection, the Broad Museum, Los Angeles, the Ludwig Museum in the Russian Museum and in many more Museums and private collections.
