This original contemporary, almost geometric landscape is an autobiographical, oil painting which uses a brighter, pastel palette. The thickness of Kaufman’s brush strokes creates layers of paint capturing a feeling for the sole purpose of self-expression and exploration. This painting is about texture and color; the warm golden, pink and orange clouds against a cool blue and crimson sky, pulls you into the horizon by drawing you down to the yellow, deep purple and green land. The goal is to showcase an intimacy through her creations, which are the things of archetypes and symbols. She hopes that in giving honestly of her emotions through the brush, the personal becomes universal as viewers are perhaps moved when recognizing something of their own experiences mirrored directly from the canvas. Painting comes framed in a floater handmade frame.
