Blocks of compressed aluminum scrap. Each block weighs approximately 200 kg and contains a small quantity of gold-colored lacquer typically used for beer can covers. In a specific recycling smelter, the lacquer is burnt and the molten aluminum is cast into new blocks that can be used to produce new cans, among other things.
