A History of Magnum Photos in Ten Photographers
Over a career spanning momentous historical events, Paul Fusco has produced searing documentary photographs through which he seeks to foster empathy and understanding. As he explains: “I want the viewers to be moved into the lives of the people that they are looking at, the visual experience is incredibly emotional.” Among his iconic series is his 1968 “RFK Funeral Train”, for which he documented the mourners who stood by the railroad tracks as Robert F. Kennedy’s funeral train rumbled past—a moving, textured portrayal of the grief of ordinary Americans.
