Paul has captured cities around the world, from the bustling streets of London to the cafés of Paris and tranquil canals of Venice.

In this contemporary artwork, he captures a rainy city scene. To create a textured effect, he added layers of oil paint and allowed each one to dry before adding the next. Over the years, his dripping technique has become more controlled, which has created more refined detail and sharper edges that elevate the metallic elements.

Speaking on depicting the atmosphere of a location, he adds: “It’s all about the light, movement and how I’m going to get there. I break it down by asking myself: ‘How am I going to achieve this?’ I’m always thinking about the overall effect.”
