About Paul Trevor

Trevor Bell creates shaped canvases with abstract, color-driven compositions featuring bold gestures and elements of discernable forms. Inspired by energetic forces and the landscapes and environments that surround him, Bell often includes natural features, such as shifting clouds and fiery horizon lines, in his paintings. “I think about the object and its inner image; the activity of each and the play between the two,” he has said of his work. Bell is included among a group of artists called the St Ives School. The group, which also includes Ben Nicholson and Barbara Hepworth, is composed of artists who settled in the British town of St Ives during and after World War II.
