Memory, Nostalgia, and Nature Serve as Shared Inspiration for Two Complementary Artists
My paintings are abstract, informed by nature, comprised of memory, fleeting thoughts, or unrelated meanderings.
Like most artists I draw upon life experience and the world around me.
The tools I use, the approaches I take, have mostly to do with how I interpret those things at that particular time.
It is my intention to create visually interesting works, that hold attention and continue to reveal themselves over time. Paintings that evolve intelligently and hopefully have some lasting effect on the viewer through shape and color, tensions and relationships.

“My paintings are abstract, based on nature, comprised of memory, sideways glances, fleeting thoughts... and unrelated meanderings,” painter Peter Ramon has said. The Connecticut artist finds inspiration for his work in the environment around his home, rendering evocative landscapes of snowy fields or sizzling heat with only the sparest of gestures and forms. Ramon's palette often favors the dark; his studies of thick jungles of organic forms recall works by Jackson Pollock, like Easter and the Totem.
