Auville works with construction cement. Applying techniques used in the construction and ship building industries, he spreads the cement over high-density foam panels, creating pieces ranging in size from one to eight square meters.

Douze lines (douze means twelve in French) are made of cement mixed with sand and slate powder which have been thoroughly washed and brushed.

Small sparks of quartz, naturaly present in sand provide a shine to the darker lines.
