Pierre Fix-Masseau, ‘EXACTITUDE - FIX-MASSEAU’, 1932, The Ross Art Group Inc.

Fix-Masseau (1905 – 1994) worked closely with Cassandre from 1926 to 1928, and the master’s influence is clearly seen in this poster for the French railway. Fix-Masseau has, in fact, reversed the perspective of Cassandre’s 1927 Nord Express , and the powerful design results in one of the most impressive posters of the period. During his lengthy career Fix-Masseau maintained his distinctive art deco crisp style and he continued to create new posters well into the 1980’s. He is especially well known for his images of the Venice Simplon Orient Express.
