Pietro Berrettini, called Pietro da Cortona, ‘Study of a Roman general with two subsidiary compositional studies’, Christie's Old Masters

The two figures on the right are studies for the Sacrifice of Polyxena, a large canvas, executed circa 1624, coming from the Sacchetti Collection and now in the Pinacoteca Capitolina, Rome (G. Briganti, Pietro da Cortona o della pittura barocca, Florence, 1982, no. 26).
