Series: “The Blackfork Bestiary”. A bestiary is an ancient scientific catalog of animals. The Blackfork Bestiary is a portfolio of 50 photographs of animals with whom I share the Blackfork Creek ecosystem. Blackfork Creek is a watershed, high in the Neches River drainage. The work reflects on man and the landscape, how environment shapes culture and the inner lives of kindred beings. Animals, that are the subject of these images, either seem to seek him out or are brought to him by friends and neighbors familiar wit this project. Importantly, all of these are live animals that, after being photographed, are safely returned to the place they were found.
